Program Description
The SBA Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs (PRIME) is a competitive grant for nonprofit organizations that train and assist disadvantaged microentrepreneurs. While not a direct small‑business grant, USVI nonprofits can apply and then deliver services to residents and small businesses.
Eligibility
- Nonprofit microenterprise development organizations, intermediaries, and similar entities
- Territories (including USVI) are eligible per SBA
Application Process
- SBA posts the annual PRIME competition on Grants.gov (typically spring)
- Applicants submit proposals per the NOFO and SBA requirements
