Disaster Preparedness & Response

Be Ready. Stay Safe. Help Your Community.

This page helps St. John residents prepare for hurricanes and disasters, know what to do during and after a disaster, and volunteer to support your neighbors.

Atlantic Hurricane Season: June 1 – November 30 Peak activity is typically mid-August through October. The best time to prepare is during blue-skies months (December–May).

Opportunities year-round

Remember: Preparedness is a journey, not a checklist.

Start small. Do one thing this week. Then another next week. Build your supplies and your plan over time. The most important thing is to start now — not when a storm is on the way.

We're stronger together. Stay prepared, St. John!
