Program Description

HMGP provides funding to states and territories following a presidential disaster declaration to implement long‑term hazard mitigation projects that reduce risk to people and property. In the USVI, HMGP projects are coordinated with the Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) and VITEMA.

Eligibility

• Territorial and local governments; certain nonprofit subrecipients per FEMA guidance

Application Process

• Coordinate with USVI ODR/VITEMA for current HMGP cycles and submit via FEMA GO when applicable
