- Financial Assistance
- Program Description: Thanks to the generosity of Red Cross donors, Red Cross is able to provide financial assistance to individuals and households affected by federally declared natural disasters. After a disaster is declared, the Red Cross begins collecting information from households who believe they are eligible and want to receive assistance. This helps them prioritize outreach to those with the greatest ongoing needs.
- Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must generally meet all of the following criteria:
- Your pre-disaster primary residence is in a confirmed disaster-impacted area
- You are the head of household and are not listed as a household member on any other Expanded Recovery Assistance application
- Your primary residence was damaged, or you are currently displaced due to the disaster
- Your total annual income is at or below 135% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines, based on household size
- You need financial assistance for confirmed and current unmet recovery needs resulting from the disaster
- Your identity and proof of residence details are confirmed
- Application: Form becomes available post disaster
